UNESCO marked 23rd April as the World Book Day which is a global celebration of literature, reading, and the joy of books. Aligned with this, the Paalvia Foundation and Nukkad Café organises an annual festival named Pune’s World Book Day.

This festival celebrates the impact of literature. We believe that literature is not just a collection of words or a form of expression; it is a path to evolution – personal and societal. It shapes perspectives, nurtures resilience, motivates us to push — and even break — boundaries, and opens doors to new possibilities. Through the stories of those who are visually impaired, differently abled, in confinement, or struggling with social imbalance, we highlight the impact of literature which becomes even deeper and more profound.
